THE RAROTONGAN - HOME OF THE FEELERS' BLUE SKIES
Rock legends the feelers spent a week in Raro under Blue Skies filming their hot new summer single BLUE SKIES that combines the sound of the feelers with that unique Raro vibe – creating a chillaxed summer anthem!!
The Feelers created a buzz with an impromptu live jam session at Captain Andy’s Beach Bar & Grill at The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa - a priceless moment as the feelers got their rock on and belted out their new single Blue Skies accompanied by fast-beat traditional Rarotongan drumming using hollowed-out log drums, and really capturing the essence of this idyllic tropical island with such lyrics as ‘Blue skies take me away, Blue sky just a moment away’.
Band drummer Hamish Gee even pulled out a few wicked solos on the Raro drums, in the process breaking his island drum sticks!
The crowd instantly fell in love with Blue Skies and were singing along, dancing and drumming their feet to the beat, and whooping in appreciation.
For over an hour the feelers continued to blow the crowd away with some of their greatest hits including Communicate, Venus, Pressure Man, As Good As It Gets, Supersystem and One World. Guests of The Rarotongan rocked the night away to these well known Kiwi songs, a great finish to a perfect blue sky day.
And it just gets better – the next day the feelers went on to record their Blue Skies single on site at The Rarotongan – in the grand Te Vaka Room, a high-vaulted space renowned for its superb acoustics (according to some opera singers, some of the best acoustics they’ve ever come across).
Then the guys went for a wander out to
